Group Workshops

Workshops consist of approximately six to eight participants.  The workshops are normally hosted by an affiliated agency that has requested my services.

My role is to provide the clients with information, resources, facilitation and support to ensure success for everyone.

Below is a general outline of what may be covered during a workshop.

DISCLAIMER: All services listed can be provided individually or in combination depending upon the needs of the client, agency/organization.

Resume and Cover Letter service

The objective is that each participant will have the tools to create an initial draft of a resume and cover letter after completing the workshop.  The career specialist will follow-up with each participant by phone to assess their progress.

Workshop participants will learn the following:

  • A basic outline of a functional resume.
  • The purpose and format of a professional cover letter.
  • How to create a clear career objective for a resume.
  • How to write complete accomplishment statements for a functional resume.
  • How to highlight your qualifications for various positions.
  • The definition and use of transferable skills in a resume.

Interview Skills and Accessing the Hidden Job Market service

Workshop participants will learn the following:

  • Some common interview questions.

  • Participants will have an opportunity to practice in pairs and gain feedback from the facilitator.

  • Definition of the hidden job market and its    importance in an effective job-search.

  • Definition of networking with specific examples.

The objective of this workshop is to assist participants in understanding the importance of the hidden job market in an effective job-search.  Networking is the best way to find meaningful employment.  In an interview situation there are some tough questions asked by potential employers.  These will be addressed and practiced during the workshop.

Additional consults can be arranged on an individual basis for any of the above topics for a flat fee with the career specialist.
